4th of July

This year for the 4th we got invited to go to a very small town, Mnt Pleasant which is about 45 mins south of us with some friends, the Baxter's. Brent, the dad is from there and his parents still live there.  They have a big celebration down there so we thought we would go check it out.  Jason's parents went with us also.  They stayed at a Camper World just about 5 mins away from us. We took all of the machines with us and spent the day on the mountain 4-wheeling.  I am love that Jason made us get a side by side for me to drive with 3 of the kids.  It is so fun to drive and I like having the kids with me.

We started up the mountain but Jason's dad had to go back because the road was way too bumpy for him.  With his neuropothy, it was too much for him.  I felt bad that he would have to miss out.  We had to pull over and stop and wait for Jason and his mom to help him down.

I had to post this picture of me 20 pounds skinnier than I am now.  That's right folk, I have gained 20 pounds back this summer!  Suckage!  It royally sucks but it is what it is. I'm back on track and will get the weight off and more. This is supposed to inspire me to stick with it.

The little kids decided to take funny pictures of themselves.  While we waited Ryan got his first experience with pooping in the wilderness.  Thankfully, I had brought a roll of TP with me! It was so gross.

Yes, now there will be photo's of Sadie on the blog.  I guess I lost another battle with getting rid of her.  My only consolation is that we will be ripping out all of our carpet and replacing it in the next year or so.  Hopefully sooner.

Our group shot on the top of the mountains.  I'm sad I can't find the picture with the Baxter's.  They are a great family, so nice and we get along great with them.  Our kids have a great time together and they were so gracious on this trip.

I was at the back of the whole group so I was covered in dust!  Covered!! After we got back from our all day ride, we all went to Jason's parents camper place and went swimming. I did my fake shower in the pool to get all of the dust cleaned off.  It was so nice.

Were missing 2 kids in this picture from the group.  I don't know where Bailie and Cameron are.

After swimming we went back to Brent's parent's house for a BBQ.  The food was so darn good and it was so nice to sit back, relax and chat. The kids played on the trampoline, rode the machines in the big lot next door and had a great time.

Once it finally got dark, we watch the best firework show we have ever seen.  The fireworks were let off right across the street from the house we were at.  It was an amazing show. Poor Sadie was freaking out.  We've never had a dog during the 4th and didn't know how badly she would react.  Thankfully, we were able to put her in the basement of the house with the other dogs until it was done.

That night we were going to sleep out under the starts on air mattress.  It was perfect weather for it until it started pouring rain!  It rained so so hard.  Jason, Blake and I had to carry all the little kids who didn't wake up from the rain inside the house and then Jason and I ran for our big enclosed trailer to sleep in.  We got to sit and watch the lighting fill up the sky while it rained cats and dogs.  It was so crazy.  Our adrenaline was going to much it took us a while to fall back asleep.  It was a painful night.

We were finally able to fall asleep but it wasn't the best sleep so we were ready to pack up and head home the next morning.

This looks like so much fun! Mt. Pleasant is near and dear to my heart. That's where my people are from. Many a family outing we had on the skyline drive. :)
