Staycation

The weekend  before school started Jason and I took the kids on a little staycation.  This was when Jason and I were supposed to go away for our anniversary but we were feeling guilty leaving the kids when we had done nothing fun with them all summer except leave them to go to funerals or help my mom move.  So we loaded up the car and headed out to Lagoon.  I have mixed feelings towards that place.   Jason loves it there, I hate it.  To me it is a glorified carnival and I do not want to pay that much money to ride carnival rides. Anyways, so we went and did the rides and Ash really wanted to dress up and do the old fashion pictures.  I have wanted to do this before but was always turned down by the whole family so I'm glad they all listened to Ashley on this one.

Ry and Liv played those dumb games to win this minnion.  They kept yelling, "it's so fluffy!" which was really cute but I think it's already in the DI pile.

When we were getting our clothes for the pictures, the girl gave Blake these huge pants.  It was hilarious to see them on him.

We all had a pretty good time at Lagoon.  We had a hotel reserved up in Ogden for us that night.  We went to dinner at Outback and I don't know if we were all starving, but it was one of the best dinners out we have had in a while and I'm not a huge fan of Outback.  We went back to the hotel where we all went swimming for a while and then crashed in bed.

The next day we all slept in really late and then went to Roosters in Ogden to meet up with Jason's cousin and his family for lunch.  It was also so darn good! We then went to Hill Air Force Base to check it out.  We had never been before and it was really cool!  I would go back again.  There was lots to see and a kids corner for them to do things.

Liv and Ry wanted to do these pictures and since Jason had all the older kids off doing something we had a go at it. Ryan and Liv each have their own copy which they are excited about.

After Hill Air Force Base, we went to iFly to do some indoor sky diving!  I was totally freaked out to do it but it was so blasted fun!

We had a quick little class on how to do it and then we went in and did it.  All of us, even Ryan.  We have a video of our whole time sky diving but we weren't aloud to bring in our phones to take pictures.  This was by far the highlight of the whole trip.

After this we grabbed some dinner and headed home.  We rented a movie and had a relaxing night at home.

The next morning we went up Spanish Fork Canyon and hiked to Diamond Fork hot pots. It was 2 1/2 miles in to the pots.

Once we got there I quickly realized I didn't feel the need to stay long or come back.  They were pretty gross and tons of people had already been in there that morning so all I could think about was all the kids who had peed in them. I'm too anal for my own good!

We did end up staying about an hour but a really bad thunder and lighting storm hit and I was more than freaking out about having to walk another 2 1/2 miles back to the car in it.  We got drenched from the rain and it was such a relief to get to the car and it's safety. We ended up I think going to the movies that night and ending our fun little family vacation.  I think we all enjoyed ourselves and doing new and fun things.
